Fjord buns (no oven)

Stovetop buns with cardamom and dried cranberries. Made in a covered pan over a tent stove.

Ingredients

  • 250g flour
  • 1 tsp instant yeast
  • 150ml warm milk
  • 30g sugar
  • 1 tsp cardamom
  • 30g dried cranberries
  • 1 tbsp oil

Steps

  1. Mix dry ingredients in pot
  2. Add milk + oil, knead 3 min
  3. Rest 15 min covered
  4. Form 8 buns
  5. Pan over low heat, lid on, 8 min per side

🏕 Tent tip

Use a heat diffuser between flame and pan if your stove runs hot — burns from below before tops are cooked.
